What is InSite?

InSite is the central database of UK Government Civil Estate properties and land. It records the precise location of property, along with associated information such as landlord, lease details, and usage.

Users can locate and view individual properties, access and amend core property details, and interrogate the system to identify vacant space.

Personal data is any information that tells us something about you. This could include details such as your name, contact information, and user ID.

The Purpose

Your personal data will be collected for the following reasons:

  • Control user access and facilitate secure sign-on.
  • Provide a central contact database for communication among InSite users.
  • Attribute data ownership and accountability for data inputted into InSite.

Legal Basis of Processing

The legal basis for processing your personal data is that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest and in the exercise of official authority vested in the Cabinet Office.

We will share your personal data with:

  • IT system administrators and cloud hosting providers.
  • Other InSite users via the internal contact database.
  • InSite users within your organisation through property records access.
  • Websites linking to property records on InSite.

Retention
