It spans the breadth of the UK including Central, Local and Devolved administrations. InSite has been developed around the Government Property Data Standard which offers published guidance on data collected for Property Assets. It was developed by members of the Office of Government Property and reflects the cornerstone of improving data quality, consistency and interoperability throughout the public sector estate.

It focuses on optimising public assets, unlocking surplus land for housing and regeneration, and fostering the creation of public service jobs outside London to spur economic growth.
OGP enhances property management capacity through leadership in the Government Property Profession and data-driven decision-making. OGP‘s responsibilities include setting property policy and strategy, building professional capacity, leading regional location programmes, and promoting collaboration and efficiency across the public sector.
